Being a blogger

I used to be a blogger...
I started blogging in 2004 and was blogging all the way to 2008...
Blogging was my life... I Was a Blogger... And my friends Were Bloggers...

And then things happened... And I wasn't blogger anymore...

Since then, I tried several times to get back to blogging, but it seems to me that it's still not time for that... So I'm going to stop Trying to be a blogger again and keep on posting only photos of my work... and then maybe I'll write when I have something to write about... when I'll have something to say...

Regarding my work, at the moment I'm collecting some supplies with hope that very soon I'll start making my own art in the techniques that comes the most natural to me...

Snowflake Necklace

I found the pattern for this necklace here.

Granny Pillow

I named it Granny Pillow because it was made as simple Granny Square style. It's actually for my mother-in-law and she liked it very much.

Free Photo Booth Printables

I'm making a party for this New Years Eve and one of the fun stuff will be the photo booth.
I made these printable props to print-out, cut-out and glue on some barbecue sticks.

So, instead of hiding them on my computer and forgoting about them i near future, I thought why not share it here...

Have fun and let me know if you like them :-)

Smashing Wallpapers

I love Smashing Magazine. They have very informative and easy-to-read articles and are great resource if you're into web-design.

However, my favourite time of the month is the beggining of month when they have an article with 40-50 beautifull wallpapers from web and graphic designers...

My fave for this month:

This year I made these little advent calendars for my friends out of matchboxes. I filled them with chocolate, candy and christmas quotes.

Advent Candle Centerpiece

This Christmas and NYE my color combination is gold, silver and violet... I have also chosen stars to be the main motif, and knitting/crocheting as main techniques used in gifts, ornaments as well as in advent candle centerpiece...

About copyright or Is it really stolen?

Back in the days when I was a young blogger writing about my life, ma beliefs, politics and other social questions, my posts were being stolen by other blogger as if they were the ones who written it.

That made me really mad and it was also one of the reason that I lost my interest in blogging.

However, the more I got involved in art and crafts, I have noticed that lot of blogger are struggling with this issue. But, on a completely different level.

Artists and crafters all around the world want to be original and hate to be ripped of. They hate if they see someone else using their idea.

And although I know the feeling of being ripped of, and although I do agree that it's wrong to steel/use someones photo or article, or to claim copyright on someone else's work, I do feel that some people are going to far. They are mistaking "steeling" with "being inspired by".

For example, we all know that Mona Lisa was originally made by Leonardo da Vinci, but she is constantly used as an inspiration in thousands of other arts and crafts. The same thing is with Eiffel Tower, Coco Chanel style, traditional heritage and so on.

Artists and crafters seek for inspiration in life and other peoples art. There is nothing wrong with that. They are not doing it because they want to steel from you, but because you inspired them.

So, if you feel like someone stole your work, please take the time to contact the author and tell them your view.

Also, please take the time to read how Gwenn Seemel makes sure she doesn't get ripped of...
